More than just a charcoal grill, the Kasai konro uses a natural clay material to optimise heat retention, reflecting heat back into the grill and to the food. As the konro has superior insulative properties, the charcoal burns longer than in conventional cookers, helping to maximise cooking times without having to change or add fuel. The special design of the grill also delivers those searing hot temperatures (up to 350°C) needed to lock in natural flavours without imparting other aromas.
This standard model includes the stainless steel frame and heat mat. The nature of this style of cooking is based on the coals becoming extremely hot – using charcoal instead of wood offers much greater heat due to a much higher energy content. With this in mind, the included Vermiculite heat mat helps to protect your surfaces.
